I just saw Black Panther for the second time, and like everyone who’s seen the film at least once, I can’t wait to see it again. There was so much I loved about the movie, but what most affected me in both viewings were the women, and how much freedom, power, and, humanity they had in the movie. I loved the range of black womanhood that Black Panther showed us, from Queen Ramonda to brilliant Shuri to clever Nakia to General Okoye, and many others. Here are some of my favorite books that have made me feel represented in the same way watching Black Panther made me feel. I hope they all leave you shouting, “WAKANDA FOREVER.”
