The Andalucian Friend and Try This at Home

RIFers, we have a special treat for you this week. Inspired by the Read It and Eat It series at our sister site, we’re offering not one, not two, but three books with this week’s Read It First giveaway.

You’ve told us that you love listening to your books, so we’re thrilled to give away copies of the unabridged CD audiobook for The Andalucian Friend by Alexander Söderberg. You’ve also told us you love to cook, so we’re giving away copies of Try This at Home by Richard Blais.

As always, we want you to Read It First, so we’re giving away reader’s copies of The Andalucian Friend in advance of its publication on March 12, 2013.

The Andalucian Friend is a powerhouse of a novel – turbo-charged, action-packed, highly sophisticated, and epic in scope – and announces Alexander Söderberg as the most exciting new voice in thrillers in a generation. Brad Thor calls The Andalucian Friend “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo meets The Sopranos.” It’s epic in scope and full of surprising twists and turns.

Try This at Home by Richard BlaisTry This at Home is the very cool debut cookbook from Bravo’s Top Chef All-Stars winner chef Richard Blais. Like Alexander Söderberg’s debut, Richard Blais’ recipes are wildly creative. A new way to make a dish is always on Richard Blais’s mind. He adds coffee to his butter, which he serves with pancakes; incorporates the flavors of pastrami into mustard; makes cannelloni out of squid; microwaves apple sauce for his pork chops; and cooks lamb shanks in root beer. In his debut cookbook, he shares 125 delicious recipes that are full of surprise and flavor.

This would be so cool. Thrillers are one of my favorites and I love to cook. Ok so I’m not a gourmet cook but I love it anyway. Mostly I like to experiment with ingredients.

  • Connie Aaron

This sounds like a really awesome book!! A combination of both of the type of books I love to read in one – how cool is that!!

I love audio books. I spend an awful lot of time in the car driving kids and going to meetings out of town so this would be a great prize.

  • Janet P Bedell

I received an advance reader’s edition of this book and must say I loved it! It has all the elements that I love in a thriller – suspense, surprises, and great writing. I do believe that Alexander Söderberg will be the next Scandanavian author to become a bestseller.

  • Janet P Bedell

Loved this book! Alexander Söderberg is definitely an author to watch!

  • Christina

    Thanks for the advance copy.

  • Margaret O’Connor

Thank you! I was very excited to have won a copy of this book. Just a little disappointed that the cover and the first few pages have a big bend crease running down the front. The book was shipped with no protection or wrapping around it in an envelope that was bigger than the book so the book probably slid around while being shipped. I don’t want to sound like I am complaining because it won’t take away the pleasure I will get from reading the book but I just mention this because I am sure that it didn’t leave in the same condition it arrived and thought you might be interested in knowing this so as to possibly prevent this happening in the future. Again, thank you. I really am very happy to have received a copy of the book. 🙂

    • Katie

Mine arrived in a similar condition. The way it was situated, it almost looked to me like someone had caught the front of the book when sliding it into the envelope. I, too, though, was so excited to have received a book that I hadn’t thought twice about it until I saw your comment. Thanks again, Read It Forward!

  • Margaret O’Connor

Just finished reading the copy that I won. I loved it too. Great characters. Great story line. Fast movement as the author switched back and forth between different characters. Looking forward to reading the next book.

  • Sandie W

I thought I won a copy of this book, but I haven’t received it so maybe not?
