What I’m Reading: Faith Salie

Faith Salie, author of Approval Junkie, tells us all about three books she's been recommending to anyone who will listen.

In Approval Junkie, Faith Salie explores her own lifelong quest for approval in a collection of heartfelt and hilarious essays. Everything from scoring the perfect GPA (to impress her parents) to subjecting herself to an exorcism (to save a toxic marriage), Salie has done it all in her desire to win praise, respect, and love from others.

Salie calls herself the ultimate approval seeker—an “approval junkie,” if you will—and reflects on why she tries so hard to please everyone, and how seeking approval from others is more than just getting them to like you. It’s also challenging yourself to achieve, and survive, more than you ever thought you could.

Salie sat down to tell us about three books she’s read she can’t wait to tell the world about. Watch the video below to find out for yourself (we fully approve of clicking that play button)!
