At Comic-Con, we asked The Martian author Andy Weir to tell us about his favorite reads.

We love Andy Weir. We love The Martian. We even made a fan-girl stop motion tribute video to main character Mark Watney. So when RIF’s Papercuts video team ran into Andy at 2016’s Comic-Con International in San Diego, we had to stop and ask him a few questions.

ANDY WEIR was first hired as a programmer for a national laboratory at age fifteen and has been working as a software engineer ever since. He is also a lifelong space nerd and a devoted hobbyist of subjects like relativistic physics, orbital mechanics, and the history of manned spaceflight. The Martian is his first novel.
