We asked members of the Read It Forward community to tell us about unforgettable literary Moms.

What a great list: from Harry Potter‘s Mrs. Weasley to Mrs. Murray from A Wrinkle in Time to Mrs. March in Little Women.

We agree that Mrs. Weasley is an awesome mom. Mother of seven, madly in love with her husband, matriarch of a happily disheveled home – Mrs. Weasley seems to have it all under control.

She’s loving, she’s smart, she’s fierce. Remember her words right before she did away with Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange? “Not my daughter, you bitch!” Now that’s an unforgettable mom.

(Also: we love how Mrs. Weasley’s line winks back to Ripley in the film Alien.)
