You Are Now the Main Character in the Last Book that You Read

They say you are what you eat. We say you are who you read. Answer our question in the comments!

who you read

Recently, on a whim, we posted this question to Read It Forward Facebook: “You Are Now the Main Character in the Last Book You Read. Who Are You?”

582 comments later, we now have one of the coolest recommended reading lists from your fellow RIFers. Check it out!

Lots of Theos from The Goldfinch. Lots of Lannisters and others from Game of Thrones. Surprisingly, lots of Holden Caufields from Catcher in the Rye! And then hundreds of characters we can’t wait to meet. Our TBR pile just grew by the dozens.

Let’s continue the fun. So, who are YOU? Tell us in a comment!

Nikki van Schyndel of “Becoming Wild”. A memoir. Nikki spent 19 months in the wilderness of Broughton Archipelago in BC. Her only companions were her cat and Micah (a virtual stranger but someone with whom Nikki shared the same values and life ethos). Nikki, Micah and “Scout” survive on their knowledge of plants and animals that inhabit the area they live in, and their ever growing skills in harvesting what only nature has to offer. Nikki is a remarkable woman who came to be the person she was always intended to be by shedding her urban life and values, and by immersing herself in the primitive ways of hunting and gathering in order to survive. Nikki’s voice is special. Had the story been told in any other voice and without the sensitivity and reverence for life that seeps from every page, the book would have been a dry naturalists guide to foraging. It is far from it!
