Reader Spotlight: A Constellation of Vital Phenomena

"The story was so very well-written that it stayed in my head after I was done," says RIFer Elizabeth. "I actually went back and read the last chapter again the following day. I look forward to hearing more from Anthony Marra."

A Constellation of Vital Phenomena takes place in Chechnya over a course of five days in 2004, with chapters recalling various times from the 10 years prior.

This was not a time/location combination that I was at all familiar with before reading this book and that probably would have put me off a bit had I just come across the book in the store (although I was very drawn to the cover so I might have picked it up anyway).

It took me a little while to get really into the story, but once I did I couldn’t put it down.

The story was so very well-written that it stayed in my head after I was done and I actually went back and read the last chapter again the following day. I look forward to hearing more from Anthony Marra.
